What is Coconut Oil?
As coconuts mature the water inside solidifies and becomes copra, otherwise know as “meat”, and it is from this that coconut oil is extracted from.
What can I use coconut oil for?
Coconut oil is an incredibly diverse oil and has an array of health benefits and uses, such as being a natural teeth whitener. It can also be used as hair conditioner, a natural beauty product and in cooking.
Are there any chances of allergies from coconut oil?
Coconut oil is extracted from plants that are nut-free, dairy free and concentrates free, thus suitable for those suffering with those allergies.
Can Coconut oil be used as a moisturizer?
Yes! Coconut oil protects the skin from damage, dryness, and helps the skin heal when injured. Because coconut oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E it makes it a great natural moisturiser.
Can deep drying be done with coconut oil?
Coconut oil is versatile and can be used for any kind of cooking, such as frying, roasting and baking. Coconut oil has a high smoke point, meaning it is one of the safest oils to use at high temperature (177°C/350°F).
Is coconut oil suitable for lactose intolerant individuals?
Yes! Coconut oil is free of lactose thus making it a great natural substitute for lactose containing product.
Can coconut oil be used within a diet plan?
Coconut Oil is often referred to as a dieter’s dream and is a great oil to incorporate into any diet-plan and weight-loss regimes.. It lowers body’s craving for unhealthy sweet treats and importantly it, increases satiety, meaning you feel fuller, for longer.
Do you use heat in the production process?
Jeeva Extra Virgin Raw Coconut Oil is called ‘raw’ because it does not use any heat during production. The oil is extracted from the milk of centrifugal-system-processed coconuts, which keeps the oil closest to its most natural form.
If the oil melts, is its quality affected?
No, the oil is perfectly fine if it turns to liquid, it’s natural as the melting point of coconut oil is above 24 degree centigrade. We would recommend storing the coconut oil in cool places below this temperature but all in all, there is nothing to worry about if the oil changes state, the nutrients are all the same.
Is King Coconut Oil high in calories?
King Coconut Oil has almost the same calorific value as any other oil. There are approximately 117 calories per tablespoon.
Is Jeeva Coconut Oil hydrogenated?
All of our coconut oils are not hydrogenated. They are 100% coconut oil, unrefined, extra virgin, raw and organic.
Will coconut oil make the food taste of coconut?
Our King coconut oil has a mild coconut flavour, but not as strong as that of the green coconut. The intensity of the taste however is really dependant on a couple of things. One is what form of cooking the coconut oil is being used for, for instance in sweet dishes, the coconut oil taste can be quite enhanced and used for it’s flavour. The other is the personal taste preference of an individual.

What is Coconut Water?
Naturally refreshing and hydrating, coconut water is the liquid that is found inside young coconuts.
There are two types of coconuts that water can be extracted from; the green coconut, which is harvested at 5-7 months of age, and the orange King coconut which is harvested between 3-4 months and this is the coconut water we use in all of our drinks.
Is Coconut Water the same as Coconut milk?
Coconut water is not to be confused with coconut milk which is derived from mature coconuts as the water inside starts to solidify and becomes coconut “meat”, and it’s this meat that is used to make coconut milk.
Coconut milk is also visually and compositionally different; it is white in colour, unlike coconut water which is clear; and it is high in fat and protein, whereas coconut water contains no fat.
Do you dilute your coconut water drinks?
No, our drinks are 100% coconut water, straight from the King coconut; nothing less and nothing more!
Do you add any sugar to your coconut water drinks?
No, our drinks contain only naturally occurring sugars.
How is Jeeva Naturals King Coconut Water different to other coconut waters?
Many reasons! Our King Coconut Water is natural, certified organic and 100% King coconut water with no additives, no preservatives; nothing artificial at all. Our King coconuts are sourced only from the local communities in Sri Lanka and we work closely to ensure our products are created with the utmost care.
The coconut water is at its sweetest when the coconuts are still young and tender and this is when we pick them, at roughly 3-4 months in age. Picked by hand, thus ensuring minimum intervention. Once picked, all our drinks are bottled within 24 hours, ensuring they are the freshest you can get! We use an advance extraction and filtering process, so no heat treatment is involved, which means our King coconut water is as smooth and as close to the natural taste as you can get, a truly authentic taste of the exotic Sri Lanka shores!
Does you use any flavours?
We only use natural flavours in our Matcha Tea, Mint & Lime, Lemongrass & Ginger and Turmeric King coconut waters. All our ingredients are 100% natural and we use the ingredients in their natural form and blend them into our King coconut waters.
Does coconut water contain gluten?
No, coconut water is gluten free and therefore suitable for coeliacs and those avoiding gluten.
Is coconut water safe for children?
King coconut water in particular is very high in electrolytes and is thought have levels as has as human blood plasma. This makes it a great alternative to other sweetened drinks for children, as well as all age groups, as it is a rich and nourishing source of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.
Is coconut water safe for pregnant women?
Coconut water is an excellent hydrating source of liquid for pregnant women, as well as being packed full of electrolytes, minerals and vitamins, providing you with nourishing properties. It is also recommended on the basis for being a preventative for common issues such as exhaustion and constipation.
How much coconut water can be consumed in a day?
Coconut water is rich source of particular vitamins and minerals, and thus, as with anything, moderation is key. A balanced and varied intake of vitamin and nutrient sources throughout the day is essential.
Each bottle is roughly the equivalent of one King coconut, and so with this in mind, 2-4 bottles of Jeeva King Coconut Water is considered to be fine. It is important to note however that the recommended intake can vary based on the individual as body type, health, digestion and so forth will vary person to person and thus must be take into consideration.

Are any of your products from GMO-foods?
No, all of our products are certified organic by the Soil Association. We believe in providing you with products that are as close to nature as possible and thus ensure none of our products contain or are derived from GMO products and are free from chemical inputs.
Do you use any preservatives or additives?
No. Our coconut products are 100% natural, organic and are free of any additives and preservatives.
How is King coconut different?
Cherished by the local community, the “golden wonder” King Coconut, is a rare and special kind of coconut and indigenous to the beautiful tropical island of Sri Lanka. This single origin, bright orange, variety is solely harvested for its water, however we’ve worked closely with the local community to allow some King coconuts to mature, so we can also reap all of the benefits of this fantastic coconut through using the oil too. King coconuts are also known to be more nutritious than any other variety of coconuts throughout the world!
How do you source you coconuts?
We work closely with the local community sourcing our coconuts from gardens and garden farms. All our coconuts are handpicked by the local community, adhering to our minimum intervention methods.
