JEEVA CARES

ACTION FOR ORPHANED BABY ELEPHANTS

Jeeva is dedicated to the conservation of indigenous wildlife and has found the perfect partner in international wildlife charity, The Born Free Foundation.

Through the sale of our King Coconut Water and King Coconut Oil, Jeeva will be supporting Born Free’s vital Asian elephant conservation work in Sri Lanka, helping them to safeguard this incredible species in their natural habitat and support the rescue, care and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants at the government run Elephant Transit Home (ETH).

The main threat to Sri Lanka’s elephants is conflict with humans outside protected areas, where most elephants live. As a result of this conflict, young elephants can be left without a mother at a vulnerable age, and as an alternative to taking calves into permanent captivity, the ETH rescues these orphans and rehabilitates them in readiness for their release back to the wild.

Born Free

The Born Free Foundation is a dynamic international wildlife charity, founded in 1984 by actors Bill Travers MBE, Virginia McKenna OBE and their eldest son Will Travers OBE following Bill and Virginia’s starring roles in the iconic film ‘Born Free’. Today, led by Will, the Foundation is devoted to wild animal welfare and compassionate conservation, working worldwide to save animal lives, stop suffering, rescue individuals and protect rare species.

Working with local communities Born Free protects lions, elephants, dolphins, gorillas, tigers, wolves, bears and many more species, providing a voice for the countless animals who suffer, whether as part of the ‘entertainment’ industry, as victims of the illegal wildlife trade, or as a result of habitat destruction or conflict with local people.
